Holy Week Activities

The Catholic countries in the world is currently observing the holy week. According to Wikpedia, “Holy Week in the Catholic liturgical calendar is the week from Palm Sunday (also called Passion Sunday) through Holy Saturday.” In various parts of the world, this week is given with utmost importance – making it a holiday for the entire week to give way for the observance.

There are actually several beliefs and customs when observing the holy week. Most of the religious people are taking this time to reflect and ponder with their past actions and future plans as firm believer of God. Meanwhile, there are also other families that would take this time to have a break and enjoy with each other’s company.

If you want to contemplate with the meaning of the holy week at the same time enjoy the free time with your family but don’t have enough budget for some escapade, then here are just some of the many things that you can do to make this week a holy one.

1. Teach your children about God. You can make it enjoyable by preparing some games and prizes to encourage them to join.
2. Watch related movies together. Pick the perfect movie that will catch their attention
3. Visit the nearby church.
4. Help the community. The church has several programs that you can participate to.
5. Visit your relatives. Visiting your relatives especially those who are sick is an act of love.
